january and february are typically slow months of youth ministry for us. canadian hibernation. 2011 is no different, as getting the average teenaged "bear" out of it's "den" is like trying to start your car left outside in -35 degree weather. thankfully, with the help of a few days rising above zero, the adolescent bear awoke. not to say that it's in full fury, but there's a slow waking up process at work, and in this process we hope to engage youth in meaningful ways in order to give them hope and see them reach their potential. here's a few pics to highlight the awakening.
some counter-talk around a new developing counter
nothing says "wake up" like baking cookies...in our new oven! one of them cookies looks like some creepy old man or something.
some girls had the impulse to read their way through the winter blues
this is one bear that we disturbed out of hibernation. "a sword for the Lord and...Zach?"
